Park St Dental Practice is a modern Family, Children and Cosmetic Dental Practice and a Centre for Dental Implants in Mona Vale.
Park St Dental Practice is located at 26 Park Street, Mona Vale: a heritage listed building which is one of the oldest Mona Vale houses.
The house at 26 Park Street, Mona Vale is of local significance as it is one of the earliest surviving houses in the locality, built in c1904 by Samuel Stringer during the early phase of the settlement of Mona Vale. It has associations with the community through its use as a primary school and a police office in its early years.
The house of Park St Dental Practice is a well detailed Federation period building which retains its original architectural and decorative features, including decorated street facing gables, a bay window, decorative verandah joinery, and chimney.
The house is also one of a relatively small number of Federation period houses across the Pittwater LGA which is well-maintained and intact.
When Dr Geoffrey Surgeon purchased the property in 1975, a modern dental surgery had been built at the front, while the original cottage behind it had sadly been left to deteriorate. In 1989, Dr Surgeon and his colleague Dr Watson made the decision to rebuild and restore the historic cottage, breathing new life into the property.
Today, the practice is proudly owned by our Principal Dentist, Dr Neda Gorji, who considers it a privilege to work in such a unique and meaningful space. Thanks to Dr Neda’s ongoing care and dedication, the building has been preserved in exceptional condition, reflecting both its rich past and present-day purpose.
The house is now a heritage-listed building and remains one of the best-preserved historic homes in Mona Vale. It stands as a beloved local landmark—not only because of its beautiful architecture, but also due to the love, respect, and care shown by both its current and previous owners.
